Here is how a woman can shrink her middle and waistline by strength training — even if she’s struggled for years to trim her stomach.
The key to women losing stomach fat is a specific approach to strength training.
Few women know what this approach is, because women continue to be unrealistically concerned that strength training will bulk them up. Trust me; lifting weights will not bulk you up if that is not your goal.
Women can’t lose stomach fat if they make mistakes with their strength training program.
Are you truly “comfortable” with your body, as many plus-sized women say they are?
You KNOW that if a pill existed to transform the rolls of fat in your stomach to tight, sleek and defined abs, you’d take that pill.
Now imagine for a moment you look in the mirror after a shower and see a trim, totally toned, defined middle: You exclaim, “I have abs!”
But instead you see a big pasty blob. You just want to punch a hole in the mirror and scream, “It’s not fair!”
Lose Stomach Fat Permanently and Safely
Even if you’ve already been strength training, and still can’t lose stomach fat, you can still make your dream of killer abs come true.
All you need to do is alter the way you do your strength training. There are two basic principles that you must adhere to in your regimen in order to destroy those lumps of blubber.
If you’ve already been strength training and still have a plump gut, then lift heavier weights.
Now, this doesn’t mean haphazardly pick up the heaviest dumbbell. There is rhyme and reason to using heavy weights, and there is also a way of determining if weights are “heavy.”
The basic rule is to use a resistance (dumbbell, barbell, machine) that’s light enough to perform at least eight repetitions — but too heavy to go past 12.
Apply this rule to your biggest exercises such as squats, pulling motions and pressing motions.
Ever notice that women with “some” muscle never seem to have a spare tire?
Below are images showing the strength training moves for that eight to 12 repetition max.
Combined with cardio exercise and a portion controlled diet, these strength training exercises will strip excess fat from your stomach.
